Community Engagement

Started by the community – Serving the community – Sustained by the community

Garden House Hospice Care opened our doors more than 30 years ago, providing personalised and compassionate palliative and end of life care to thousands of local patients. We believe in living well to the end of your days and support and empower our patients, their families and carers from the day they receive a diagnosis.

Community Engagement is key

We aim to reach more people, earlier on in their diagnosis to receive our care and support through a variety of services and groups.

Community Engagement is about providing caring communities by supporting, listening and educating local people about palliative and end of life care.

Our aims:

  • To educate, inform and learn from our community
  • To ensure hospice care is welcoming, friendly and easily accessible for patients of all ages, races and ethnicities
  • To focus on living well, as well as dying well – we want to engage more people in conversations around living well until we die and how to achieve this. We hope to promote these conversations and remove the stigma and barriers around talking about death and dying.
