Trek Borneo Day 2

Our 11 intrepid trekkers are now 12 as they have been joined by Jane from Different Travel our tour company.  They had a dalliance with ITV at Heathrow who were filming the Heathrow TV programme. Lisa was marooned at passport control but fortunately Liz (who we love to use as our video lead) was on hand to deliver a very professional talk about Garden House Hospice Care!

The trekkers had a pleasant night flight to Kuala Lumpur. This is the first time they realised there is a snorer amongst them - But who was it? No one knows....

They have been chatting with cabin crew and passengers who are native to Kota Kinabalu on their very impressive aeroplane, which has external cameras so they can see the ground below!

Cabin crew gave our GHHC team a special shout out, wishing our trekkers luck for the journey ahead with cheers and applause from all passengers on board!

Trekker Des who is now known as ‘Mr Des’ even had the whole plane singing happy birthday to him, with a new nickname of ‘red faced bear grylls Mr Des’ kindly given to him by his fellow trekkers, and a special slice of birthday cake, he was quick to recover from the embarrassment!

Amidst the birthday celebrations, Lisa only won the £1,000,000 on the aeroplane’s ‘Who wants to be a millionaire’ game - Unfortunately this was only Monopoly money and not the real thing, if it were, the Hospice could do some great things with it!

Special thanks to Starbucks, Kuala Lumpur for welcoming our thirsty group with free drinks upon arrival.

Nothing much to report as yet, but all twelve trekkers are absolutely fine and in good spirits, all sending their love back home.
