About the Hospice's services
We provide a huge range of services both within the Hospice and in the community across an area comprising of 260,000 people.

Our catchment area
The Garden House Hospice Care catchment area includes Stevenage, Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock, Royston, Biggleswade and all the surrounding villages in Cambridgeshire and Central Bedfordshire.
Inpatient Unit
There are 12 beds on our Inpatient Unit, where patients are looked after by our specialist team 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Rehab and Wellbeing
Our Rehab and Wellbeing team provides rehabilitative palliative care and wellbeing services to people across our community with life-limiting conditions.
24-hour advice line
Our palliative care advice line is for patients, carers and healthcare professionals and is open 24 hours a day on 01462 416794.
Family Support Service
Our Family Support Service exists to promote emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing, both pre- and post- bereavement.
Dementia Care
Our specialist Admiral Nurse provides dementia care, advice, guidance, training and support to carers, families and those living with dementia.
Care home support
Our Frailty/End of Life Care Clinical Nurse Specialists work with care homes, liaising with residents, their families and carers around future care wishes.
Hospice at Home
Our Hospice at Home community nurses and healthcare assistants provide care for patients in the comfort of their own homes, seven days a week.
Wellbeing Hubs
Our weekly Wellbeing Hubs, Healthy Memory Café and drop-in sessions provide a friendly, welcoming space in the heart of our community in North Herts.
Compassionate Neighbours
Our Compassionate Neighbours service provides support to community members experiencing loneliness or social isolation.
Schools, colleges & youth outreach
Educating our future generations of young people in schools, colleges and youth groups about modern day hospice care.
