Without volunteers, the Hospice simply could not function. By giving your time, sharing your skills, and choosing to support Garden House Hospice Care, we continue to achieve fantastic results, supporting a number of people, their families and carers affected by advancing illnesses.
Over the past two years, the Hospice's work has focused on enhancing care quality, improving equality of care and becoming financially sustainable. Our Inpatient Unit is the core of our traditional services and remains vital to our work. We have had to close four beds in the last year due to a shortage of funding which has contributed to a drop in admissions of 28%. However, we have been able to care for more people at home.
Our strategy reflects a deliberate and evolving shift away from a traditional model of hospice care focused solely on end-of-life support, toward a broader, more inclusive model that addresses evolving health and societal needs. Our services offer equality of care through caring for people where they need us and where they want to be.
