Are you looking for a way to make a positive impact in your community? Join us as a Volunteer Shop Assistant at Garden House Hospice Care! You will work alongside other volunteers and staff members to ensure that our shops run smoothly, provide excellent customer service and generate revenue, playing a crucial role in helping us support people in our community to live life to the fullest.
How you can help
- We ask for a regular weekly shift commitment; however, we understand that schedules may vary and can be flexible
- Commit to Garden House Hospice Care’s mission and values
- Greet customers and provide a friendly shopping experience
- Display donated items for sale, ensuring that they are in good condition and meet our quality standards
- Ability to work well in a team and follow directions from staff members
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ensure the shop is clean, organised and safe for customers and volunteers
- You will have the opportunity to operate the till and assist with transactions if it appeals, but it is not compulsory.

Training and support
- You will undertake mandatory training to ensure that you can carry out your role safely and confidently
- You will also be supported by our staff members and other volunteers, who will be available to answer your questions and provide guidance as needed
- You will be entitled to receive free access to our Volunteer Assistance Programme, which offers confidential support and advice.
