Kerry’s Annual Charity Bike Ride combines community spirit and tribute to beloved friend
A much-loved community fundraising event that has raised more than £76,000 for Garden House Hospice Care in over two decades will return this summer with a special dedication.
Long-time Hospice supporter Kerry Golds is inviting cyclists of all ages and abilities to take part in Kerry's Annual Charity Bike Ride, a 32-mile, non-competitive, family-friendly cycle ride taking place on Saturday 8th August 2026. This year's event is being held in memory of Kerry's friend, Kelly Vooght, who received care at Garden House Hospice Care in October last year.
Established in 2004, the annual bike ride has become a fixture in the local community calendar for 22 years, bringing together cyclists, volunteers, families and supporters to raise vital funds for local hospice care. Kelly and her family were long-standing supporters of the event, making this year's dedication especially meaningful for everyone involved.

Starting and finishing at The Cricketers in Weston, participants will follow a scenic 32-mile route through beautiful countryside and quiet country lanes, with allocated refreshment stops along the way.
The celebrations will continue after the ride with a barbecue, raffle and children's fun zone, creating a fun-filled day for the whole family. Every penny raised will support the care provided by Garden House Hospice Care.

For Kerry, this year's event carries even greater significance:
"Garden House means so much to me and my family, and this year I wanted to dedicate the bike ride to my dear friend Kelly. The care and support she received at the Hospice was incredible, and holding the event in her memory feels like a fitting way to honour her while helping other local families who need the Hospice's services. Kelly and her family have always been wonderful supporters of the bike ride, which makes this year's event particularly special."
Organisers hope to build on previous years' achievements and continue the event's proud tradition of supporting the Hospice's specialist care and support services across North Hertfordshire and surrounding communities.
