Assistant Store Manager, Stevenage (Sundays only)
We are recruiting for a committed Assistant Shop Manager with a passion for fashion, homeware, soft furnishings and household goods to join our team as an Assistant Shop Manager on a Sunday.
This is an exciting time to be joining our retail team as we embark on ambitious plans to renovate our stores. Our Stevenage Oval shop is home to a great selection of affordable childrenswear, toys, homewares, fashion and more. We have a range of preloved high street must haves at half the price, with every item you buy will not only getting you a great bargain, but also helping us to continue to care for local people in our community.
What does the Assistant Shop Manager role involve?
- Driving sales and promoting Gift Aid to reach maximum revenue potential
- Maintaining a high standard of display, presentation and cleanliness throughout the store
- Seeking new opportunities to market the store, including organising promotional events and activities locally and via social media
- Managing the deliveries and collections of donated goods and delivering an excellent standard of customer service
- Working collaboratively with the Store Manager to build and develop a motivated team of staff and volunteers.
What skills does the Assistant Shop Manager need?
- Retail experience, ideally within the Charity sector
- Have experience in people management, including experience of working with and managing volunteers
- Great communication skills along with a can-do attitude
- A creative flair and passion for customer service
- Be confident working in a fast-paced environment
- Be proactive, driven and commercially aware
- Have strong IT skills with a good knowledge of Excel/Word/Outlook package.
This is a part-time position covering 7 hours per week on a Sunday. Candidates should be flexible as there may be the need to support our other shop locations as required.
