The Wildflowers

Dedicate a flower in our gardens memory of a loved one and attend our Wildflower and Remembrance Afternoon.

Dedications & event registration

Every year, we enhance our beautiful gardens by planting an array of wildflowers, giving us the opportunity to celebrate the lives of the people who are no longer with us. Full of colour, our wildflowers are a haven for wildlife and give you the opportunity to honour the memory of your loved one(s). It brings a soothing, sensory environment to our gardens for people of all ages to enjoy. There are two ways you can get involved:

Dedicate a flower

Choose from one of eight wildflowers to be planted in our garden in memory of your loved one: bluebell, cornflower, daisy, forget-me-not, marigold, nigella, poppy, sunflower. Once you have made your selection and a donation of your choice, we will keep you updated when the flowers bloom so you can follow their progress.

For each flower dedicated, your loved one's name will be printed on a display* for all to see at The Wildflower and Remembrance Afternoon and listed on a special dedication page on our website. There is no limit to the number of flowers you dedicate, but we ask for a minimum donation of £5 per flower.

Wildflower and Remembrance Afternoon

On Sunday 28th June, we will be holding our annual Wildflower and Remembrance Afternoon in our hospice grounds. This will give you the opportunity to spend some time in our beautiful garden and reflect on your loved ones. Our Emotional and Psychological Support team will hold a short service with readings, and then refreshments will be available for all to enjoy and activities for children.

When booking, please note a £5 charge will be added per adult to secure each place and to help us cover the cost of the event.

Cheryl dedicated a poppy in memory of her dad, Martin.

"The Wildflower Afternoon was my first opportunity to attend one of the special events organised by Garden House since my dad passed away at the Hospice.

The gardens are the ones we used to walk around with dad until he became too poorly to walk them himself. Even in the darkest days, my family and I would wander them to find comfort and appreciate the nature and tranquility that surrounds the Hospice.

Returning in June allowed us to appreciate the gardens in bloom and full of colour."
