What will I learn?
By the end of the session participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate understanding of the anatomy and pathophysiology related to pressure ulcer development .
- To understand the importance nutritional assessment, Waterlow and observation skills have in assessment of skin integrity.
- To understand the term ‘aSSKINg’ and its importance in tissue viability management.
- To undertake an assessment and consider an effective management plan involving the patient and carers.
- Know when to refer on to specialist services for further assessment and advice.
