Volunteer Opportunities

How can you get involved?

Volunteers fill positions throughout every department in the hospice, and are a vital asset in enabling us to continue to provide our services to the community.  Last year 90,000 volunteer hours were given to the hospice - we couldn't do it with our valuable volunteer base.
Volunteer roles for the Hospice are varied and include:
  • Hospitality roles in our In-Patient Unit and Day Services Centre
  • Patient and family support services e.g. counselling
  • ‘hands on’ care working alongside the nursing team
  • Administrative duties
  • Maintenance, gardening and flower arranging
  • Using your expertise within our complementary therapy department
  • Welcoming patients and visitors at reception
  • Receiving, sorting and preparing donated goods at our Distribution Centre
  • Being the face of the hospice and serving in the Hospice shops
  • Fundraising or supporting at fundraising events
