If you’re looking to make a positive impact while working with a fantastic team, we would love to hear from you! Join us in supporting the incredible work of Garden House Hospice Care at The Depot.
As a volunteer sorter, you'll help us sort through the generous donations we receive each week, ensuring that good quality items are sent for sale in our shops or online, while recycling those that aren’t suitable or in poor condition. You’ll be part of a great team of volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun along the way!
How you can help
- Commit to Garden House Hospice Care’s mission and values
- We ask for a regular weekly shift commitment; however, we understand that schedules may vary and can be flexible
- Sort donations efficiently, identify items suitable for sale and recycle those that cannot be used
- Use a computer to scan barcodes on books, DVDs and CDs
- Maintain a clean and organised sorting space
- Ability to work well in a team and follow directions from staff members.

Training and support
- You will receive ongoing support from staff and fellow volunteers, who will always be on hand to help
- No prior experience is required. Induction and training will be given in role
- You will be entitled to receive free access to our Volunteer Assistance Programme, which offers confidential support and advice.
