We offer a transport service for community members who wish to attend our Wellbeing Hubs and local groups. Transport can be a barrier for some, so we need volunteers to help ensure everyone can access these vital services. Whether you’re interested in driving or supporting passengers, both the Minibus Driver and Minibus Chaperone roles provide a rewarding opportunity for those who are passionate about helping others!

How you can help

As a chaperone

  • Accompany the volunteer driver assisting the community members in getting safely to and from the hubs/groups
  • Assisting with the transportation of passengers, including boarding and exciting the minibus
  • If you're friendly, reliable, punctual and aged 18 or over, you'll be a great fit for this role.


As a driver

  • Your main responsibility will be to drive community members from their homes to community hubs and back again after their sessions
  • A schedule and route will be provided to make your journey as efficient as possible
  • Volunteers must be aged 21 or over and have held a full, clean driving licence for at least two years
  • Volunteers should be under the age of 70 unless the driver has passed a PCV medical and obtained restriction 120.

Training and support

  • You will receive an induction and ongoing support from our Minibus Co-ordinator
  • Helpful staff members and friendly volunteers will be available to answer any questions
  • This role is subject to a DBS check and mandatory training
  • You will be entitled to receive free access to our Volunteer Assistance Programme, which offers confidential support and advice.
