Donate items

Donations will be accepted at The Depot - our distribution centre - in Letchworth and all of our stores across North Hertfordshire.

As a charity, Garden House Hospice Care relies on generous donations to raise the £7.8 million a year it costs to provide our services. The profit made by our high-street shops and other trading services contribute toward this figure, so every item you can donate helps. We will gratefully accept donations of your preloved clothing and unwanted goods at any of our shops in North Hertfordshire and surrounding areas, and at The Depot, our all under one roof distribution centre in Letchworth.

If you have any questions regarding our shops or donating items to us, please call The Depot on 01462 678076 during office hours or email thedepot@ghhospicecare.org.uk

Yes, there is unfortunately a list of items we cannot accept or sell for safety or legal reasons - please click the link to download this.

My clothing isn't in a wearable condition - can I still donate it?

Yes - don't dump your holey, stained or tired clothing; instead, donate it to us! In 2023/24 we raised £96,906 through the donation of rags, which could fund more than two weeks of care for all patients on our Inpatient Unit.

Simply mark your donation bag as 'rag', drop it to your local store or the Depot and we'll do the rest!

Can you collect my items?

Yes, our collection services take the hassle out of donating large items or quantities of furniture. We offer one-off furniture collections and also have a House Clearance service if you are looking to clear a whole property.
