Make a Will for ‘Remember A Charity Week’
This week is ‘Remember a Charity Week’ - so why not book an appointment to create your will in exchange for a donation to Garden House Hospice Care.
Writing a will is one of those 'life-admin' jobs that we so often put off, but by taking part in our 'Make a Will' scheme, local solicitors will waive their usual fees for writing and updating wills, (often starting at around £220 for a basic will) in exchange for a donation to us instead.
The scheme is open all year round, and having a will written allows you to protect your loved ones when you are no longer here.
Our very own Rehab and Wellbeing Physiotherapist, Althea, recently wrote her will with Fortune Financial in Hitchin as part of the campaign. Althea had a telephone appointment with a member of the team and told them what she would like in her will - it was a simple 10 minute conversation, and it was very easy to do.

Althea said: "I wanted to write my will to make sure I could protect my loved ones in the future. The 'Make a Will' scheme is great as it meant I could get my will written and also help... raise vital funds at the same time."
Kerry, our Legacy and In Memory Manager, helps run the scheme here at the Hospice. She added: "We hope to raise £10,000 this year from the campaign which could fund three days of the 24/7, expert care we give on our Inpatient Unit. I have recently written my own will and it was very easy and straight forward, and now I know my loved ones will be protected.
"By taking part in the campaign you could get your will written cheaper than normal and also raise money for the Hospice - so it's a win-win really!"
