Gardening Volunteer
This role is the perfect opportunity for nature lovers! For those who enjoy being outdoors, have a little gardening knowledge and a desire to help maintain the gardens and surrounding areas. Working alongside our head gardener and a team of volunteers, you will play an important role in the upkeep and development of the garden, so that it can be enjoyed by patients, families, staff and visitors all year round.
How you can help
- You will work outdoors, helping to maintain the gardens and surrounding areas
- Your efforts will help create a beautiful, tranquil space for patients, families, staff, and visitors to enjoy year-round
- Volunteers can join on any day that suits them (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday and Friday from 9am to 1pm)
- You will be part of a regular weekly gardening session
- Commit to Garden House Hospice Care’s mission and values.

Training and support
- Ongoing in-role training provided by our expert head gardener
- Support from a friendly team of volunteers who are always ready to help answer any questions
- You will be entitled to receive free access to our Volunteer Assistance Programme, which offers confidential support and advice.
