What will I learn?

By the end of the session participants will be able to: 

  • Understand the updates in Dementia and symptom management
  • Understand the importance of good record keeping with Controlled Drugs
  • Be aware of the process of incident reporting if an error occurs
  • Be aware of why, when and how we would use medical Oxygen 
  • To be aware of the safe administration, handling and storage of Oxygen
  • Understand the health and safety risks with using Oxygen
  • Know who to contact in the event of problems/errors with medical Oxygen and the incident reporting procedure
  • Able to complete opioid conversions
  • Able to review incidents using audits 
  • Understand accountability in medicines management and what this means for staff, the patient, family and the Organisation
  • Be aware of the Hertfordshire Adult Anticipatory Medication and Syringe Pump Charts and the importance of a patient having this in the Community
