Volunteers sought for new Letchworth shop

We are opening a brand-new shop in Letchworth Garden City and are looking for volunteers to help work there.

The new shop, formerly the Edinburgh Woollen Mill on Leys Avenue, is currently being renovated but will open in late August and provide us with our second charity shop in the town centre and our thirteenth across North Hertfordshire, Stevenage and beyond.

Anyone interested in volunteering can attend an infomal open evening next Tuesday 27th July, which will take place at the current Letchworth shop at 11a Eastcheap from 5.30pm-7pm.

You’ll be able to discover more about volunteering for the Hospice, find out further details about the available roles and be able to speak to current staff members whose journey with the Hospice started by volunteering.

Rukia Augustine is our Volunteer Engagement Lead:

“Volunteers have been vital to the Hospice for the last 30 years and come from a diverse range of backgrounds. Without their help, we simply could not provide the services we do.

“Our new shop in Letchworth will provide a range of exciting volunteering opportunities and we’d love for any interested people to attend our open evening next week to find out more. It’s going to be a really relaxed environment to drop in and have a chat with us, over a coffee and some cake, about what’s on offer.

The new Letchworth shop on Leys Avenue will be opening its doors on Thursday 26th August and will stock a wide range of quality pre-loved clothes, toys, books, DVDs and gifts. Our existing Letchworth shop on Eastcheap will then stock a wide range of second-hand furniture and electricals.

There is no need to book for next week’s open evening, but any questions can be directed to our volunteering team on volunteers@ghhospicecare.org.uk or call 01462 679540 (option 6).
