Do you have a passion for homeware, upcycled furniture, or hidden skills waiting to be showcased? Join The Upcycling House team at The Depot and make a real difference in the community!
At Garden House Hospice Care, we are dedicated to sustainability and giving old items a new lease of life. By restoring and repairing furniture and household items, our volunteers help create unique, high-quality products that are sold online and in our shops. The funds raised support the Hospice's care for patients, their families, and carers.
How you can help
Skills in painting, repairs, decoupage, upholstery, sewing or similar are essential
Volunteers must be a minimum of 18 years of age
Join us on a shift to suit you, Monday to Sunday
Bring your attention to detail and flexibility, we appreciate volunteers willing to take on a variety of tasks
Help us transform tired items into beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces!

Training and support
- You will undertake both in-role and online training, ensuring you feel safe and confident in your role
- Ongoing support will be provided by staff and other volunteers, who will be there to answer your questions and offer guidance whenever you need it
- You will be entitled to receive free access to our Volunteer Assistance Programme, which offers confidential support and advice.
