Furniture collections

Donate furniture items to Garden House Hospice Care. Call us on 01462 678076 to book a collection and help us care for more people in North Herts.

We will always welcome high-quality furniture donations, including sofas, dining room tables and chairs, beds with clean mattresses, armchairs, wardrobes, chest of drawers and sideboards. We know that it's not always that easy to bring them to us, so let our furniture collection service remove the hassle for you. We cover all our local towns including Letchworth, Hitchin, Stevenage and Royston and other areas in North Hertfordshire and surrounding villages.

How does a furniture collection work?

  1. Call us on 01462 678076 (option 1) to discuss your requirements. We'll find out the initial information we need about the property and the items you wish to donate.
  2. We will review your answers, taking into consideration the condition of your items and how long the collection will take. Any items which cannot be resold may incur additional charges for disposal, but this will be discussed with you at the time of your enquiry.
  3. Once you are happy, we will agree a suitable date and time for the furniture collection to take place. Our professional team will arrive on the day, collect the specified items efficiently, and ensure the property is left clean and tidy.
  4. Items suitable for reuse are refurbished where necessary and sold in our stores, supporting our commitment to sustainability. We will handle the sorting, recycling, and disposal of items where necessary, adhering to all environmental regulations.

Do you charge for furniture collections?

The amount charged depends on how many items we are collecting. Our current prices (last updated June 2025) are:

  • Up to five items: Free

If you have more than 10 items to donate to Garden House Hospice Care, this will be treated as a house clearance and your quote will be calculated on a per item basis.

What area do you cover?

We collect donated furniture from the Garden House Hospice Care catchment area, which includes Stevenage, Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock, Royston, Biggleswade and all the villages in between. If you live outside this area, additional charges may incur.
