The gift that keeps on giving: regular donations can help secure our future

Regular donations help us plan sustainably for our future. In a time where things have never looked more uncertain, knowing charitable income will still be there in weeks, months, even years to come can help us secure the future of our vital services.

In today’s financial climate, one-time donations are declining as the cost of living continues to rise. People simply cannot afford to give a large amount to charity in these challenging times.

We are feeling the impact too. With only 29% of our funding currently coming from the NHS, more secure options are desperately needed. So while we await a decision from the ICB on next year’s funding, we are asking you to consider another way to support: setting up a smaller regular gift. Options to give monthly, quarterly, six-monthly or even yearly mean you can make a big difference, no matter your budget.

Even something as small as giving up the cost of one coffee each month could help. If 10% of people in North Hertfordshire were to save that money and donate it to Garden House, we could guarantee around £402,000 of income for the year. That could keep our entire services running for 24 days, including the cost of nursing and our doctors, as well as running costs like hot water and keeping the IPU clean.

In the first month since announcing our funding shortfall for this financial year:
