We opened our 11th shop in Biggleswade in Bedfordshire on Thursday, July 11th.
The Deputy Mayor of Biggleswade, Councillor Frank Foster, officially opened the shop alongside CEO, Sue Plummer and Chairman of Garden House Trading Company, Steve Mellish.
Councillor Frank Foster, said:
“We welcome the Garden House Hospice Care shop to Biggleswade and wish all the staff and volunteers running the shop well. We had a friend who was cared for at the Hospice and the care and support provided was excellent."
Steve Mellish, Chairman of Garden House Trading Company, added:
“We have been looking forward to the opportunity to bring one of our shops to the area for some time now. It is a significant opening for us as it’s our 11th shop and provides a fantastic opportunity for customers to buy top quality, recycled products."
The Hospice needs to raise almost £5 million in total income every year to run its services. All profits made from our shops contribute directly to providing this free palliative care.
Sue Plummer, Chief Executive Officer, Garden House Hospice Care, commented:
“We appreciate all the support we get from our existing shops and are very excited to be opening our 11th shop in Biggleswade.
“The Hospice relies on the support of volunteers within our Hospice as well as our shops and we are very grateful to those who are able to give some of their time to help us.”
