On 9th March the Hospice held our first House of Lords Dinner hosted by Lord Clarke of Hampstead and attended by our new Patrons Lord and Lady Julian Fellowes as well as Lord Evans of Watford. We also welcomed special guest Baroness Ilora Finlay of Llandaff, Chair of Trustees for the National Council for Palliative Care and an independent cross-bench member of the House of Lords.
120 guests attended this prestigious evening event in aid Garden House Hospice Care to build on existing and new relationships and help raise vital funds. Guests enjoyed a tour of Parliament before hearing pre-dinner speeches from John Proctor, Chairman of Trustees, Lord Clarke and Baroness Ilora Finlay of Llandaff. After the meal guests were entertained by a Question and Answer session from Lord Julian Fellowes, creator and executive producer of the award-winning television series Downton Abby.
Everyone who attended had a great evening and over £25,000 profit was raised for essential hospice care through the silent auction and other fundraising activities.
