For Donna and her family, Garden House Hospice Care has become a haven - a place where love, compassion, and expert care have given them the most precious gift of all: more time with Kelly.
When Kelly was first admitted to the Inpatient Unit following a long road of illness and treatment, the family were filled with apprehension. Memories of their mum’s final days at the Hospice 18 years earlier made the thought of returning difficult. But the moment they arrived, those fears began to ease. The team welcomed them like family, surrounding them with warmth and reassurance. Donna says it felt as though “a weight had been lifted from our shoulders.”
Kelly had been in unbearable pain, barely eating or drinking, and the family had prepared for the worst. Yet, after just a short time in our care, everything changed. With her pain under control and her spirits lifted, Kelly began to laugh and chat again. Moments the family never thought they would have.
Kelly spent peaceful hours in the garden, taking in the autumnal view from her room and soaking up every moment with those she loves. Garden House has given Donna and her family not only comfort, but cherished time to make memories - time they will treasure forever.
This care, this love, this peace - it’s what every family deserves. But right now, we’re facing the most critical moment in our 40 year history. To break even this year, we must raise £750,000. To safeguard next year, and the years to come, we need sustainable support.
