Volunteer Student Counsellor

The Family Support Service at Garden House Hospice Care exists to support emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing. When someone is diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, everyone in the family is affected.

Within the service, we work with patients, families and friends, both pre- and post-bereavement. We try to meet individuals wherever they are on their journey, taking the time to provide timely and appropriate support, to listen to individuals and get the best possible outcomes for them.

About you

We are currently open to applications from student counsellors who are looking for a placement.

You must be currently studying at Level 4 in either Year 1 or 2 of your course. We have limited placements and ideally you would be able to start after successful interview, induction and completion of our mandatory training which will be provided to enable you to undertake your placement within our team.

Mandatory Supervision is provided twice per calendar month and should be attended by all placement students in line with BACP requirements.
