'Harry the Bear' Volunteers

What you can expect...

We are seeking a bank of volunteers to be our Hospice mascot, Harry the Bear, on an ad hoc basis. You will predominantly support Susannah, our Schools' and Colleges Coordinator, by visiting local schools in North Hertfordshire and surrounding areas for assemblies or events and giving a friendly smile and a wave (and sometimes a little shuffle and wiggle!).

Harry the Bear also supports our in-house Hawthorne Schools Project by handing out goody bags and certificates to participating children, and is occasionally used by our Fundraising and Trading teams at events or launches.

How you can help...

Volunteers need to be physically fit and able to cope with enclosed spaces. You be always have support from a chaperone to guide 'Harry' in the right direction, and will be in costume for no longer than 15 minutes at a time (weather permitting).
