About the course

A two-hour session to help staff feel confident to deliver oral care to patients at the end of life. This training will provide you with the knowledge, tools, and skills to ensure people at the end of their life receive good care in this area.

• The importance of good oral care and the complexities of providing this in different care setting
• How to carry out a thorough oral assessment
• Common oral conditions at the end of life and how to manage them
• Use of specialist products and equipment
• The use of the Mouth Care Matters toolkit and other resources

Who should attend?

Open to all health and social care professionals who deliver end of life care and wish to increase their knowledge and confidence in this area. Particularly relevant to staff working in residential and nursing homes and oral care champions.
