At Garden House Hospice Care, we are committed to building long term, mutually beneficial relationships with local businesses. Whether it’s increased publicity, achieving responsible business objectives, personal fulfilment or helping to increase employee engagement, we want to ensure that by choosing to support Garden House Hospice Care (GHHC) your business benefits too.
There are various ways your business can support Garden House:
Charity of the Year
Choosing us as your nominated charity of the year is a simple way to focus your efforts on one great cause. We will work closely with you to identify the various opportunities which are right for you and your colleagues, whether it’s fundraising, volunteering, raising awareness or organising donation drives. We will also track your support throughout the year to be able to show your contribution towards the Hospice at the end of the year.
“During my Captains year at Letchworth Golf Club in 2018, it was my pleasure to choose Garden House Hospice Care as my chosen charity for the year. We have always had a strong relationship and this grew even stronger during the year as the Hospice and golf club worked in partnership on social and fund raising activities.
The highlight was the first Hospice golf day to be hosted at Letchworth where we had in excess of 100 golfers enjoying the course and raising funds towards our final annual total of £24,000.
The hospice staff were great to work with and I’m delighted that our 2019 Captain Ian Gane has continued in having the Hospice as his chosen charity for this year.”
Jim Abraham, Letchworth Golf Club Captain 2018/2019
Sponsoring one of our events or campaigns is a great way to increase your business’ profile in the local community whilst helping us reduce our event costs and maximise income for the Hospice.
If you would like to be a hero for the hospice then why not jump out of a plane, trek Nepal or do a UK survival weekend. Bespoke company challenges are also possible.
Gifts in Kind
Whether you are a local company using your resources and skills to save us money, or a business donating supplies for one of our events, we are always grateful for in-kind donations. If you have any suggestions as to ways your company might be able to support an event, please do get in touch using the details below.
While Stepnell were working on a local building project, they chose to support Garden House Hospice Care. One of the ways they did this was to help fit new roof tiles when we experienced problems with the roof leaking at the Hospice. It used their skills and resources and saved us £500 each time.
Sign up a team to take part in one of our events. Whether it’s taking part in our Sunset Starlight Walk or Muddy Mayhem, attending our House of Lords event or even doing a skydive, participating in one of our events is not only a great way to support the Hospice but a brilliant teambuilder too!
Does your company run a payroll giving scheme? If so, why not encourage them to donate a monthly amount to Garden House Hospice Care? A brilliant, tax-efficient way of supporting a good cause. If you don’t run a payroll giving scheme, get in touch to find out more.
Does your company offer matched funding? Why not encourage your employees to use their allowance to support their local Hospice? It doesn’t necessarily need to be them running their own event, they can support by running an aspect of one of our events, such as a raffle, and claim their matched funding allowance.
At Garden House Hospice Care we are very open to welcoming groups for volunteering days. Not only are these a brilliant help to us at the Hospice, but they're also fantastic team building opportunities for local companies. We offer groups the opportunity to support us by helping in our Hospice garden and at our Distribution Centre. Corporate volunteering dates are subject to availability. If your company is not currently supporting Garden House hospice Care, we ask for a contribution of £50 for up to 5 volunteers and £150 for up to 10 volunteers to offset our expenditure. For more information about volunteering at Garden House Hospice Care and to organise your volunteering day, please get in touch.
