Our biggest priority when we are caring for our patients and their families is that we provide safe and excellent care.

We are always interested to hear from our patients and their families, friends and carers about their experience of our service. Your feedback can help us to improve all aspects of our care.

Sometimes we get letters and cards that thank us for the care that we have provided.

Here are some of the comments we have recently received from people who have been touched by our services:

"The medical staff, doctors, nurses and physio all carry out their duties in a pleasant, professional way, listening not only to the patient but also the carers/families inspiring confidence that everything will be done to ensure the best treatment and care is provided at all times, where possible everyone's needs are met."

"When entering the hospice I am greeted with a smile and cheerful word which is so encouraging, this is followed by a warm welcome from all members of staff and volunteers equally eager, willing to listen and help in any way. The volunteer's cup of tea and especially their smile with a cheerful kind word is a bonus which is appreciated by all who visit, lifting the mood."

"Thanks to your constant and overwhelming compassionate care for my mum, I will always be able to reflect on the final stages of her life with a sense of peace and the knowledge that her needs were safeguarded in every possible way. I really am so grateful for that. Thank you."

"The ethos of care and compassion was present in all aspects of my partner's care - from the housekeepers to the receptionists, from the flower arrangers to the catering team, from the tea ladies and gentlemen to the Medical Director, the pastoral care worker and certainly throughout all the nursing staff who so skillfully cared for my partner on good days and bad"

"The doctors and nurses all looked after my father with the greatest patience, kindness, respect and diligence. Also the catering and voluntary staff gave my father the most incredible consideration and respect and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Those who manned the entrance desk at the Hospice were hospitable warm and welcoming, efficient and excedingly courteous."

"My husband has been staying at Garden House Hospice Care as the hospitals are no longer able to help. What a privilege it has been receiving such special care in a calm, tranquil setting at a difficult time, giving me peace of mind when I leave him at night knowing that he is in safe hands, receiving the best care possible - that is such a comfort and relief to me."

"The facilities are first class giving each patient and family the privacy they need at a distressing time, in a calm and peaceful environment. The Quiet Room is a beautiful place for quiet contemplation and the grounds kept lovingly, enjoyed by all visitors."

"My wife enjoyed the food, the variety, quality, preparation and serving had been excellent, well done to the kitchen staff, this is an important part of the patient's care. Also the facility for families to make their own drinks and warm food is very welcome; everywhere is kept beautifully clean."

"My husband was fortunate enough to be under the Hospice at Home Care where he received wonderful care and support from the nurses from the early start of diagnosis through to the daily care near the end. He was truly amazed at the attention and kindness shown to him. I would also like to thank everyone too, for the support and kindness they showed me whilst we all helped my husband to die at home. We are a very small family and I could not imagine having to have managed on my own."
Gary, male
"I thank all who tended my wife during her last days at the hospice. The care and compassion shown her and the untiring effort to make her comfortable and pain free was so helpful to us, knowing she could not have been in better hands."
Jenny, female
"We cannot thank you enough for the care, empathy, professionalism and support that have been given to both of us over the past few weeks. You truly have an exceptional team of volunteers and professionals providing an outstanding service to those, like ourselves, who need a very special and safe place to be."
